Pavane Early Music Consort first started performing in 1992 and since then has participated in many special projects as well as performing the usual concerts, adding atmosphere at historic sites for CADW and playing at weddings and banquets.
We collaborated with Independent Ballet Wales in 2006 for their original version of The Canterbury Tales and accompanied the ballet company on part of their UK tour playing music arranged from our medieval and early renaissance repertoire. In March 2010 Pavane collaborated with the poet Matthew Francis at Newport Library providing medieval music to accompany readings from his book of poems relating the travels of Sir John Mandeville.
With the Everyman Theatre Company, Cardiff - one of South Wales’ most prestigious amateur drama groups - we provided the music for their production of Georg Buchner’s nineteenth century play, Woyzeck.
